Symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes
If you notice any of these signs of type 1 diabetes, consult your doctor immediately:
- Bathroom – more frequent urination, especially at night
- Thirst – a constant thirst that you can’t quench
- Fatigue – severe fatigue and lack of energy
- Weight Loss – Unexplained Weight Loss
In addition to these four most common symptoms, there are other signs you should watch for: itching or a yeast infection in the genital area, slow healing of cuts and wounds, and blurred vision.
Monitoring symptoms in a child:
Toilet Training – Your baby needs thicker diapers, or a child who is usually dry at night starts wetting the bed.
Thirst —Your child may ask for a drink more often, drink very quickly, or generally drink more.
Fatigue —a teacher may tell you that your child is having trouble staying alert at school, or your baby may start sleeping more or for longer periods. Weight loss—your child looks thinner, or their clothes may fit more loosely.
